Came to the Phoenix Rescue from Idaho Falls, Idaho in October of 2008. Pervious owner no long had the time to give him the training he needed. At one point he use to race in New Mexico, but was treated cruely and torchured with hay hooks. He will eventually be adoptable - currently not broke.

Hello, I am Rocky. I arrived at the Phoenix Equine Rescue in September of 2008 from Casade, Idaho. My previous owners could no longer afford feed for me. They wanted me to have a good home or else they would have to put me down rather than risk me not being well cared for. I am so glad that the kind people at the Phoenix Equine Rescue took me in. I was even adopted right away!

Howdy! I'm Buddy! I came to the Phoenix Center in July 2008 from Shelley, Idaho. My previous owners loved me very much, but I am no longer able to be ridden, so they sent me here to the Phoenix Center with hopes that I will make a great 4-H companion. I am a little older, but have a gentle nature and I am still eager to learn.

Hi! I'm Peanut! I came to the Phoenix Center in June 2008 from Menan, Idaho with my buddy Spirit. We came from a place that had six other horses and they really didn't want us, so we were placed in the paper as "Free to a Good Home". We are so greatful that Brandy Crosby came to take us home, if she had not come when she did we were to be sent to the slaughter house. I am just a young little thing but I am learning to really love people and I love to be groomed.

Hey! I'm Spirit! I came to the Phoenix Center in June 2008 from Menan, Idaho with my best friend Peanut. Like Peanut said, our previous owners didn't seem to want us too much. I was almost decapitated when I became entangled in a barbed wire fence. My skin is now healed up, but I may potentially have permanent nerve damage in my neck. Lucky for me that the kind people at the Phoenix Center think I will grow to be a great horse and that I may even be rideable some day!

Hi, my name's Dancer. I was a Quarter Horse Draft cross from right here in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Phoenix Center took me under their wings in January 2008 when me owner could no longer afford to feed or board me. I loved people and I was so excited to be learning the Parelli style of training. Brandy Crosby loved me very much and we had a very special bond with each other. She was going to help me be a beautiful show girl! Sadly, I suddenly got sick with Colic early this spring and I am no longer with her.

Hey! I'm Wiskey! I came to the Phoenix Center in September 2007 with Harley and Flicka. We lived at a house where our owner forgot about us after he went to jail. I now participate in 4-H with a very nice little girl who is very good with me. She always has the yummiest treats for me to eat when she comes to play with me. I can be ridden, but if I'm not in a good mood, I can sometimes be stubborn. I love to be around people and I am glad I was rescued by the Phoenix Center. I am a permanent resident and NOT available for adoption.

Hi! I'm Harley! I came to the Phoenix Center in September 2007 after my owner was sent to jail and didn't arrange for anyone to take care of us. We would sometimes go for two weeks without food! I am now a 4-H horse and can be ridden. I love to eat any treats and I listen well to a good handler. I am a permanent resident and NOT available for adoption.

Hi! I'm Flicka! I came to the Phoenix Center in September 2007 with my friends Harley and Whiskey. I am now participating in 4-H with a very nice girl who is very patient and nice to me and makes sure I'm not frightened. She is fun to be with and always gives me yummy treats to eat. I am still young so I can't be ridden, but you can still play lots of games with me. I am looking for a home that will love me, care for me and give me treats every day so that I will grow into a big, strong mare.

Hi! I'm Dyno! I came to the Phoenix Center in July 2007 from Pocatello, Idaho. I was a racehorse, a fast one at that, but one day in Boise, Idaho, I was racing and I broke my knee. A very nice lady took care of me, but couldn't keep me. She wanted me to have a good home, so I came here! I am very big, but I'm still as gentle as can be. I would love to be ridden when my knee heals. I love to be around people and I love carrots.

Hi! I'm Uno! Who are you? I have a hard time telling who people are because I only have one eye. It's a big secret how I lost my eye, that only 'eye' know. I came from a home that loved me, but had too many horses, and they didn't want me to get ignored, so they sent me to the Phoenix Center in December 2006. I can get frightened when I hear things I can't see, but I really am a good boy. Right now I live on a nice pasture with other horses. I love people and treats. I am a permanent resident and NOT available for adoption.

Hi! I'm Bob! I came to the Phoenix Center in December 2006 from a home that had too many horses and just wanted me to get the best care possible. I used to run in races, all until I chipped my knee in a race. I had also been kicked in the face by another horse. My knee is still healing, and I have a small case of proad flesh, but other than that, I am happy and healthy. I love to be around people and I am very gentle. I will be rideable when my knee heals up, but someone will need to teach me how to go slow when a person is on my back.

Hi! I'm Ace! I came to the Phoenix Center in December 2006 after my owners decided that they had too many horses and they wanted me to be happy so they sent me here. Before I came to the barn, I had an accident on the ice. I was playing and reared up and when I came down, I dislocated both of my shoulders. I still have some small shoulder troubles but my owner makes sure that I am as healthy and happy as I can be.

Hey! I'm Diamond and I was saved from Rexburg, Idaho in October 2006. I was kept in a 10' by 10' pen and I was up to my knees in mud and poop. This caused me to have problems with my back legs, but I am still rideable with a gentle hand. I like to be around people and I am very gentle. Things can sometimes scare me, but with the help of a kind person, I will learn not to be afraid.

Howdy! I'm Lucky! I was rescued from Rexburg, Idaho in September 2006 with my sissy, Sammy. When I was rescued, I was very thin, and had very bad rain rot and cuts on my body. My owners couldn't afford feed or Vet care and abused me and my sister. I met my new owner in October 2006 and we have been inseparable ever since. She adopted me in March 2007 and gives me all the love she possibly can. I love to eat carrots, talk to other horses and to jump.

Hi! I'm Sammy and I was rescued from Rexburg, Idaho in September 2006 with my brother Lucky. I was really thin and not properly cared for. I was very close to death, but thanks to the Phoenix Center, I was given a second chance at life. Right now, a very nice teenager works with me and is helping me learn so that someone can adopt me and love me for the rest of my life. I love to eat carrots and to be brushed.

Hi! My name is Zephyr! What's yours? I'm a burro. My mommy, Iggy, was taken off the range in Battle Moutain, Nevada, and brought to the Phoenix Center in February 2006. I was born there in August 2006. I was a big surprise to everyone! Once I grew big and strong, my mom and I moved to a nice new home where we live and play together. The poeple who take care of us love us very much and are very nice to me.

Hello darlin'! My name's Mariah. I was rescued from Rigby, Idaho in August 2006 with my baby, Fallon. Our poor owners were simply too old to take care of us. The elderly man had Alzheimer's and forgot to feed us and his wife was bed-ridden and couldn't take care of us. I was very thin and dehydrated, but after I met my new human, David, I gained over 100 pounds in 2 weeks! I love my human, and he loves me very much. Last year we won 1st prize in Showmanship at the 4-H fair!

Hello. I'm Fallon. I was rescued in August 2006 with my mother, Mariah. Our owners loved us dearly, but it was too much for them to take care of us. When we were rescued, both my mother and I were very emaciated and close to our death. I am currently looking for a nice home where I will be cared for. I love to be ridden and I am gaited! I love to be around people and I love my carrots.

Hi, my name's Rouge. I was a wild mustang from Battle Mountain, Nevada until the herd managers decided I was too old to be on the range anymore. They moved me to Delta, Utah to be acutioned off. Apparently I was "unadoptable" and wasn't suited for a pet. Brandy Crosby came and rescued me in February 2006 from my certain death. I stayed at the barn for about a year and a half. I was then taken onto a pasture by a very nice woman. Unfortunately, I got sick. I am now in horse heaven with my own new heard.

Hi! My name is Iggy. I came to the Phoenix Center in February 2006 from Delta, Utah. I originally lived in Battle Mountain, Nevada, with other burros, but I was taken off of the range. I came to Phoenix with two mustangs. I also came with a surprise! Nobody knew it but I was pregnant. I had my baby Zephyr and we soon went to a nice new home where we get to live together and play together.

Hey, I'm Journey. I was taken from my heard in Battle Mountain, Nevada. I was relocated to Delta, Utah with many other horses and burros that were unadoptable. I was almost sent to auction but then an angel came along and saved me in February 2006. She took me back to the Phoenix Equine Rescue and I now live on a nice green pasture with a nice woman who loves me dearly and takes good care of me.

Shadowfax

Hi! My name is Shadowfax! I came from Blackfoot, Idaho in June 2005. My owners didn't take very good care of me. When I came to the Phoenix Center my hooves were in bad shape. They were over 14 inches long! I was also very malnourished and sick. I still have minor hoof problems but I am doing much better. I love to be around people and I love white bread! Right now I'm trying to find someone who will take care of me and love me forever.

Dreamer

Hey! My name's Dreamer and like most of the other horses here, I was rescued. I came from Rigby, Idaho in April 2005. The Phoenix Center rescued me because my owner was going to put me down, all because I had a club foot. Although my club foot does make it hard to walk and play like "normal" horses, I am still a horse who has feelings and I'm glad I found someone who understands that. I live in the pasture with Phoenix and we love to play and eat treats. I am a permanent resident and NOT available for adoption.

My owner didn't seem to like me very much because they wouldn't feed me or give me water and they kept me in a very, very small pen. I am now 4 and live on pasture and I am very happy and healthy. Howdy! My name is Honky-Tonk and I'm going to tell you a bit about me. I was rescued by angels in October 2004 from a sad situation in Sweet, Idaho. I had been tied to a tree by some not very nice people. They wouldn't even give me food or water! Brandy Crosby brought me to the Phoenix Center and in 2007 some very nice poeple adopted me! I live with another horse and two very gently and sweet little girls. I am very happy, healthy and love my new life!

Hi! My name is Hershey! I was saved from a bad place in Sweet, Idaho in October 2004. I was tied to a tree and wasn't given any food or water for a very long time. The Phoenix Equine Rescue brought me to ther barn and helped me gain weight. I stayed at the Phoenix Center for about two years and then a kind man and his famiily adopted me. He has 2 little kids who play with me, ride me and feed me carrots. I am very happy now!

Hi! My name is Phoenix, and I was rescued in October 2004. I was taken from a home in Sweet, Idaho that was not very nice at all. They kept me tied up to a tree and acted like I didn't exist. Thankfully I was brought to the Phoenix Equine Rescue and everyone took very good care of me. I now live on a pretty green pasture with several other horses. I love to eat cereal and play with other horses.
